What was your major or field of study in college? Did you wind up working in that field or using that degree? If not, what field have you wound up in?
Submitted by sneuf.
Oh, education. My majors have included International Business, Nursing, Business Administration, and Radio and Television Production (I've had the longest freshman year in history - I started college in August of 1996 and I'm still six credits shy of sophomore status). After conferring with my latest in a long string of academic advisors, I changed from RTV to General Studies earlier this year. I have my eye on a communications degree of some sort, from some educational institution not in the DMV - my focus is currently on the University of Cincinnati or Indiana University at IUPUI (they don't offer that degree at the Bloomington campus, and Lord knows I'd have an easier time finding employment in Indianapolis proper).
Oh, employment. I've spent the last six years in the radio industry, and the last couple of months I've also been freelancing for a blog not of my own creation. At this point in my life, I don't plan on majoring in something that I don't already have some experience in, because I have no desire to start at the bottom when I'm in my 30's.
Led Zeppelin will finally offer their music online starting next month. Of the music you buy, about how much of it do you download and how much do you buy on physical formats (CDs, vinyl, etc.)?
Goooooo downloads! I've bought one physical CD this year, and it was used. I've bought about 20 albums though, and a whole bunch of single tracks, all through iTunes or eMusic. I do NOT need any more shit in my house.

O.J. Simpson is back in the news again. What are your thoughts on the release of "If I Did It" and his recent arrest?
Here's a better question:
Why the fuck do we still care about OJ?

Have you ever purchased something from an infomercial?

I was just discussing this last night. I got ProActiv, because at the time I was bound and determined to not go anywhere near Accutane. That was pretty much my last resort, as my skin used to be horrible - I had cystic acne, and it was no joke. So I got ProActiv. And it ate my face. I'm seriously amazed that it had no lasting ill effects.
When you go out to eat, how do you pick where to go?
Submitted by Kristine.
Usually I want a specific thing from a specific place. If that's not the case, I figure out what I don't want to eat, then whether or not I feel virtuous or plan to eat without care. If something still hasn't come to me by then, I try to figure out what I want according to the ethnicity of the restaurant or how much money I have or who I'm eating with or where I am at that moment. It's not usually that much of an ordeal.
What's your musical horoscope? (Put your player on shuffle and write down the first 10 songs that come up.)

- Citizen Cope "Hands Of The Saints" from self titled album
- Soul Coughing "Bus to Beelzebub" from Ruby Vroom
- Alkaline Trio "Fine Without You" from iTunes Exclusive EP
- Peanut Butter Wolf "Rock Unorthodox (feat. Pablo)" from My Vinyl Weighs a Ton
- Charles Bernstein/The RZA "Crane/White Lightning" from Kill Bill Vol. 1 OST
- the Postal Service "Nothing Better" from Give Up
- Fantasia "Baby Mama" from Free Yourself

Am I supposed to be able to interpret that? It makes about as much sense as any other horoscope I read on a daily/weekly basis. Track 8 was my ringtone for a while there, though.
To be honest, this horoscope kind of sounds like it's stickin' it to me. Just because I have apparently come down with monogamy doesn't mean that I have found someone to be monogamous with. I'd just kind of like to try it for once in forever. Although if I didn't, I can certainly see how track 9 might come into play. Track 1 is either mocking or encouraging, and I'm not sure which. Track 2 is a sympathetic voice. I have no interpretation for tracks 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 10 though. And track 8, besides being my old ringtone, is a girl dumping a boy. So, I'm just as lost as I was after reading my Rob Brezsny email for the week.
